This is my first official blog and short of doing the 'typical' this is who I am intro blog, I figured I'd just jump right into it and you will get to know me along the way, kinda like a first date but cooler because I do not have to do my hair and you do not have to pay for dinner. ha ha ha...kidding, so lets get to it.

I have seen a hawk pair circling around my place in Monte Creek since spring. I figured they were looking for a nest and I  tried to follow them numerous times to see where they were landing, but nope, nada, was not happening, the more I searched the more they flipped me the bird, no pun of corse. lol.

As luck would have it, or more the timing was finally right, Miss Mama Hawk finally gave up the nests location, at first I did not  clue in.  I was walking with my dogs on the crown land behind my house and saw a flash of white moving in an old eagle nest., looking up at the movement, I was thinking stupid pigeons building your nest in there, funny how when you are looking the most for something that it  can be right in front of you , might be a life lesson in that. ;-) , because at that exact moment the female Hawk moved, I was surprised, I did not see her at all and yet she was right there,  she then flew off and screeched at me from another nearby tree. Okay cool, but what the heck was the moving white thing? I could not see it anymore, I walked back to my house, grabbed my camera bag and off I went.

I wanted to see down into the nest so I had to climb higher than the nest, the terrain is steep and slippery with all the recent rain, but more challenging was trying to get up there with all three dogs in tow, this would be good time to say my dogs are pretty darn awesome, but they certainly do not go anywhere quietly. We did eventually pick our way to the top following an old deer trail and I set up on a slope to film down into the nest.

So, what was in the nest? a chick? a dead animal? pigeons ? I was about to find out and was delighted to see this once I focused down into the nest, no more words are needed, enjoy, be sure to stay tuned for the video of this babe growing up,  till next time , keep following those crumbs.  Monique
